About the Position: The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to
hire an Assistant Accreditation Manager in our Professional
Standards Division in Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for
this position include but are not limited to: • Supporting the
Department’s accreditation program by ensuring ongoing compliance
with standards established by the Commission on Accreditation for
Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), Inc. • Assisting in analyzing
organizational practices and interpreting existing policies such as
reviewing policy intent, determining how policies apply to CALEA
standards, and identifying inconsistencies between policy and
practice to ensure alignment with accreditation requirements. About

Knowledge: • Of research techniques and methodologies. • Of the
accreditation process. • Of project management practices. • Of
organizational management principles. • Of statistical analysis and
interpretation. Skills: • In using software applications including
databases, records management, and documentation systems used to
collect and maintain compliance information. Ability: • To analyze
complex data. • To interpret policies and procedures. • To
interpret and apply accreditation standards. • To understand and
apply written directives. • To apply basic audit and inspection
techniques, evaluating the sufficiency and appropriateness of
proofs of compliance, identifying gaps between policy and practice,
and documenting results in accordance with established
accreditation protocols. • To locate and collect proofs of
compliance from multiple information systems. • To manage multiple
assignments with critical deadlines. • To communicate effectively,
both orally and in writing. • To lead and direct the work of
others. • Progressively responsible experience in planning and
project management and in analyzing organizational issues. •
Demonstrated experience preparing reports, summaries, or
documentation for inspections, audits, or accreditation
assessments. • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Additional Considerations • Relevant experience working with the
CALEA accreditation process preferred. • Relevant experience with
other industry accreditation programs preferred. • Experience
interpreting policies, standards, or regulatory requirements in a
law enforcement or public sector environment preferred. •
Professional certifications related to compliance, auditing,
project management, or organizational standards preferred. Special
