Job Description: The Radio Sales Engineer (RSE) is a direct support to the sales staff, dealer community and prospective customers. Responsible for providing direct pre-sales and/or post sale technical expertise of Land Mobile Radios and other Harris products. Demonstration support may include short-term relationship support with prospective customers, long-term support, equipment preparation and disbursement during the selling process. Assesses the application of company products to meet customer needs.* Participates in industry trade events including trade shows, conferences and formal technical presentations at customer sites* Stores and maintain equipment for use in demos at Harris facility, storage or home-base location* Prepares and configures demo equipment, assembles and coordinate logistics for assigned region* Serves as a partner and works on a regional team and assists the team in meeting its quarterly and annual quota* Takes ownership and responsibility for actions and address issues proactively* Supports assigned region comprising of five (5) to ten (10) states* Provides support to other regions to meet the needs of the business* Understands and presents comprehensive solutions to both tactical and enterprise level customers* Communicates technical information in a clear and precise format to various levels of management* Facilitates the transfer of vital and timely customer and or market information to the sales team* May require federal security clearance to access specified customer sites* Requires at least 50% travel within assigned region via air and/or personal vehicle Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in a related field with 4 plus years of related work experience or Assoicates degrees plus 8 years work experience* 3 + years relevant experience working in pre-sales with emphasis on engineer designs, presentation and selling* Lift equipment up to 50 pounds or more Preferred Additional Skills:* Direct field sales experience is a plus* Deep and broad understanding of land mobile radio (LMR) products and the LMR marketplace* Excellent trouble-shooting, problem-solving, planning and organizational skills* Ability to understand the bidding environment and the dynamics associated with competitive procurement* Ability to work on cross-functional teams in a matrix environment* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications* Experience with tactical radio markets such as law enforcement, public safety, federal government or utilities industries* Experience in an entrepreneurial product development environment Please be aware that many of our positions require a security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
