Title: Fiscal Technician State Role Title: Administrative \u0026 Office Specialist III Hiring Range: $34,903 -$56,718 Pay Band: 3 Agency: VA Dept of Transportation Location: Lynchburg District Office Agency Website: www.virginiadot.org/jobs Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Provides financial support and services for four field bridge crews, as well as the Lynchburg District Business Office, to include maintaining, calculating, researching, validating and performing data input for various accounting transactions. Transactions may include time and attendance, accounts payable, procurement, SPCC, travel expenses, inventory and other related fiscal service transactions. Interprets and applies basic policies and procedures related to financial transactions and general business operations. Additional vacancies in the Fiscal Section may be filled from this applicant pool within 90 days of the closing date. Knowledge of general office and program support activities. Knowledge of procurement, SWaM requirements and contract administration. Ability to interpret and apply accounting principles and methods to meet fiscal and business needs. Ability to analyze and prepare financial reports. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to accurately and efficiently perform data entry into computerized financial systems. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers. Ability to maintain orderly and easily accessible files, as well as purge and dispose of files in accordance with record retention guidelines and schedules. Ability to multi-task and work well under deadlines. Skill in the use of computers and software applications to include automated financial and inventory software. Skill in providing exceptional customer service and conflict resolution. Additional Considerations A combination of training, experience or additional course work in accounting or related field desired. Experience processing accounts payable, account reconciliations and tracking time and attendance. Experience in governmental accounting, internal controls and compliance. Experience using Microsoft Windows, MS Office, and PeoplesSoft software.
