world.Job Description:Job Summary: The Electrical Assembly Leader
directs the assembly team and manages processes to ensure that
machines and upgrades are built to the highest quality, within
design specifications, on-budget and on-time in alignment with our
focus on People, Performance and Products. ESSENTIAL
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and directs daily work of electrical assembly personnel,
communicates project status updates and conducts regular team
communication meetings.
- Demonstrates responsibility for the personal safety of self and
others by maintaining a clean, orderly hazard free work
environment, and compliance with safety practices and
regulations.
- Provides technical leadership relative to assembly best
practices and product specific support.
- Ensures a high-quality finished product is built within design
specifications, performs final check on equipment to assure
completion and functionality for internal and customer acceptance
tests.
- Works together with site operations leadership team to plan
assembly schedule in coordination with engineering and
manufacturing/sourcing schedules to optimize labor utilization,
reduce lead times and achieve customer commitment dates.
- Plans assembly schedule and allocates resources to meet
customer delivery commitments and maintains master production
schedule, job status boards and any other scheduling tools.
- Communicates project status updates to leadership and
stakeholders frequently.
- May participate in or lead project-related meetings including
design reviews, assembly kick offs, team and site communications,
acceptance tests and post project reviews.
- Reads and understands customer order specifications to ensure
that they are incorporated into assembly, works with engineering to
ensure spec changes/change orders are completed.
- Provides team with support on missing or incorrect parts.
- Provides regular coaching, mentoring and feedback to assembly
personnel to communicate expectations, recognize performance and
address performance issues.
- Documents and maintains photos of machines and upgrades for
future build reference and freight claims.
- Manages outside services specific to machine assembly.
- Other duties as assigned.OTHER DUTIES/REPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the performance review and evaluation of personnel
within area of responsibility.
- Approve time-off requests of personnel within area of
responsibility.
- Develop team members to be cross trained across various product
lines.
- Provide assistance in hiring, termination and disciplinary
actions of personnel within area of responsibility.
- Develops standard work/work instructions to improve consistency
and efficiency of standard machines.
- Participation with strategic initiatives and may contribute to
strategic planning process.JOB QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge, Skills and
Ability:
- Highly self-motivated, must work well with little to no
supervision
- Must have general safety knowledge and be safety conscious
- Must be well organized
- Ability to plan, manage and communicate workflow and job
performance status using multiple tools; including electronically,
whiteboards and paper reports
- Possess excellent communication skills using various modes of
communication
- Ability to analyze basic data related to assembly execution;
i.e. job cost analysis and forecasting/planning, labor
utilization/planning
- Must be able to perform effectively under high stress
situations periodicallyEducation/Experience Requirements:
- Five years related experience in electrical assembly
- Working knowledge of package handling equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Specific product knowledge desired
- Lean manufacturing experience desiredADA Requirements:
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for
operation of a computer
- Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly
- Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 50 lbs.
