Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours), Work days are either Sunday through
Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday. Hours are typically from
8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Licensed Clinician working in Crisis Stabilization with youth
will provide direct, intensive nonresidential or residential direct
care and treatment to non-hospitalized individuals experiencing an
acute crisis that may jeopardize their current community living
situation. Crisis stabilization is intended to avert
hospitalization or re-hospitalization; provide normative
environments with a high assurance of safety and security for
crisis intervention; stabilize individuals in crisis; and mobilize
the resources of the community support system, family members, and
others for ongoing rehabilitation and recovery.
Required Education and Experience:
- Master's degree from an accredited college/university in an
applicable human services field and licensure in the State of
Virginia as a Professional Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and
Family Therapist or Clinical Psychologist.
- Must possess one year relevant experience at minimum, or a
combination of program specific work experience and relevant
education, which indicates the individual possesses the required
knowledge, skills and abilities.
The licensed or license eligible Clinician in the Crisis
Stabilization portfolio of services will work in a clinical
environment serving a child client population and will report the
Clinical Coordinator, and will be responsible for the
- CLINICAL SERVICES: Completes Service Specific Treatment Plans
for services in the Intensive Services Portfolio. Provides Crisis
Stabilization and Crisis Intervention Services per Virginia
Medicaid regulations and DBHDS requirements. Provide term
counseling designed to stabilize the individual, providing access
to further immediate assessment and follow-up and linking the
individual and family with ongoing care to prevent future crises.
Ensures productivity standards as defined in Credible. Complete
appropriate service specific assessments, treatment planning,
symptom and behavior management, and individual and group
counseling; under the supervision of Licensed Clinician.
- COLLABORATION: Collaborates with community partners to mobilize
resources of the community support system for ongoing maintenance,
rehabilitation, and recovery. Works alongside other Horizon
Portfolio treatment teams to ensure the individuals needs are met.
Suggests referrals to appropriate community services.
- DOCUMENTATION: Documents all services and results in the
individual's electronic health record by established timelines.
Documents progress and maintains a permanent record of individual's
activity according to established methods and procedures. Oversees
Medicaid- and Medicare-related paperwork and record keeping.
Completes accurate data entry as required by the grant to document
the service delivery and progress of each individual receiving

Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of behavior modification; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual
therapies;, psychosocial education; risk assessments; sex offender
treatment; substance abuse interventions; etc. Knowledge of
clinical supervision requirements and techniques. Skill to
communicate effectively in order to facilitate treatment and relay
information to others as part of an interdisciplinary team. Skill
to perform clinical interviews in order to obtain information and
to formulate appropriate treatment plans. Ability to work in and
contribute to a collaborative team environment. Ability to drive
and must possess a valid driver's license. May be called upon to
travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services
to client @other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and
Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.

intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills
and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as
