Clinician - QMHP (C) - Crisis Stabilization - HOURLY
**As of January 3, 2018, QMHP or QMHP-Trainee must be registered with the Board before the person can provide services and bill for those services. All QMHPs must be registered by December 31, 2018. We urge QMHPs to submit an application as soon as possible. Due to the anticipated volume of QMHPs, the registration process will take time. Hours: Hourly - Day shifts, hours vary week to week, typically 4 - 8 hour shifts.
Location: Lynchburg VA, 24501
The Clinician- QMHP will provide Crisis Stabilization Services. These services will be provided in an office setting, the community, in homes, and on-site. In addition, this position will collaborate with outside agencies and community resources such as FAPT, courts, Social Services etc.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field. A minimum of one year of documented clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience that qualifies the incumbent as a QMHP-C.
Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
*Knowledge of behavior modification; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapies;, psychosocial education; risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse interventions; etc.
*Knowledge of clinical supervision requirements and techniques.
*Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual's treatment and access to community resources.
*Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse.
*Knowledge of and adherence to existing professional ethical standards.
*Knowledge of and adherence to licensure regulations related to services provided
*Knowledge of and adherence to Horizon policies and procedures.
*Skill to analyze situations accurately and develop appropriate responses or techniques.
*Skill to communicate effectively in order to facilitate treatment and relay information to others as part of an interdisciplinary team.

*Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites;
*Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
*Ability to form and maintain effective therapeutic/counseling relationships with individuals, to monitor movement in the therapy process, and terminate the therapeutic relationship in appropriate ways.
