Hours: full-time (37.5 hours per week)Location: Amherst, VA 24521Compensation dependent on experiencePosition SummaryThe Clinician (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Resident) LMHP/LMHP-E will assess the needs of adolescents and transitional-aged youth who have a substance use and/or mental health disorder, and use information obtained to develop and implement appropriate treatment approaches and support services, and provide support to the individual through individual, family, and group counseling.Required Education and ExperienceMaster's Degree from a program that prepares individuals to practice counseling (60-hr Master's Program), which is offered by a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency. (Re: 54.1-3500 of the Code of Virginia)No experience required. Experience with the adults in an outpatient setting is preferred.Related credentials: Resident in Professional Counseling, Supervisee in Clinical Social Work, Resident in Licensed Marriage, Family Therapy, Resident in Substance Abuse Treatment, or eligibility to apply for residency. Note: New hires will be expected to apply for clinical supervision and residency within 30 days of hire.Related Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of evidenced based practices to include but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions; family, group, and individual therapies;, psychosocial education; risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse interventions; etc.Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individuals treatment and access to community resources.Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuseKnowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments.Ability to drive and must possess a valid drivers license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other locations.
