The Opportunity Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a Host to join our team at Peaks of Otter in Bedford, Virginia. As a Host, you will be the first person to welcome and interact with our guests. Pay Rate: $11.25 per hour!Some locations may implement a vaccination requirement in the future if required by federal, state, or local law. Host's atart at $11.25 per hour! We offer great perks for our eligible Peaks associates:--- $250 Sign-on bonus (paid after 30 days) --- $5/workday bonus (paid on completion of work agreement), max of 100 days --- FREE shift meal Responsibilities

• Review floor plan and reservation book daily; create a seating chart.
• Set up the host station according to the checklist.
• Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
• Seat guests according to the seating chart, server rotation, and guest preference and provides guests with menus.
• Maintain control of the seating and wait times.
• Clean and maintain host station; contribute to the cleanliness of the dining and bar areas.
• Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
• Answer any guest questions regarding service, and provide general assistance for guests and employees.
• Speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, respond to complaints and notifies management, and thank guests as they are leaving.
• Cash handling and credit card on POS system.
• Ringing in all Grab and Go orders
• Packaging/bagging To Go ordersQualifications
  • Prior experience in a guest service environment preferred.
  • Attentive and detailed oriented.
  • Ability to maintain a high energy level in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capable of performing specified procedures and following instructions.
  • Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with guests and co-workers.Physical Requirements
    • Ability to remain on feet for the entire length of shift; May include walking up and down stairs.
    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching & stretching as the work duties demand.
    • Ability to maneuver between tables and around corners.
    • Ability to lift, balance and carry up to 50 pounds for set-up, service, and clean-up.
    • Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to take orders, prepare checks, and communicate with guests and co-workers.
