Job Description:

Office Manager - Lynchburg (Rustburg) Virginia

40 hours per week- $11.00-$12.50 an hour

Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm

Duties and responsibilities include but are not be limited to:

  • Duties consist of answering phones, advising and communicating with families, managing files, attending to light needs of students (i.e., in case of illness), laminating, assisting with student lunches, assisting administrative staff, copying and mailing reports.
  • Demonstrate courteous and competent phone manners;
  • Demonstrate professionalism at all times to employees, parents and visitors;
  • Demonstrate knowledge about Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center;
  • Answer phone and take messages from incoming calls;
  • Maintain, organize and assure completeness of all student and employee files under supervision of staff administrator;
  • Make necessary copies requested by the staff administrator, and/or the executive director, educational and Behavior Analyst(s) of BRAAC;
  • Make necessary phone calls at the request of the staff administrator, and/or the executive director, educational and Behavior Analyst(s) of BRAAC;
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records on employee and student absences under the supervision of staff administrator;
  • Assist in maintaining the sign-in book, record keeping and other pertinent information as directed by the staff administrator;
  • Write letters as requested by the staff administrator and/or executive director (i.e., donations, parent letters, etc.);
  • Assist directors and/or therapists as needed in stressful and/or emergency situations;
  • Remain confidential regarding student and employee information, as well as inner workings of the school;
  • Laminate as requested;
  • Send out necessary notices for children and/or parents (as directed by staff administrator);
  • Organize and coordinate IEP meetings for teachers and educational director;
  • Assist with fundraising activities, as needed; and
  • Other duties as assigned by the staff administrator and/or executive director.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma;
  • Demonstrate leadership, organizational, interpersonal and multitasking skills;
  • Proficient computer skills, including word-processing, and/or Excel; and
  • Ability to communicate appropriately.

Candidate must also pass all background checks and TB test.
