The Sign Management Tech II is responsible for all interior and
exterior signs on and off Liberty University campus. This is to
include the removal, installation, and/or maintenance & replacement
of old and new signs. The Sign Management Technician II oversees
and performs a variety of signage activities such as installation,
fabrication, repair, vinyl application, and Inventory of Stock. The
Sign Management Technician may also operate lifts and related
equipment and will assist facilities maintenance staff on projects
and other duties as assigned. Incumbent must be prompt, reliable
and responsible. Working independently and exercising good judgment

experience or a combination of education and experience. State
Driver's license and insurable with company's agent. Well-developed
communications skills. Experience in the sign industry preferred.
Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office (word, excel, etc.).
Must have a working knowledge of the tools of the trade and work
independently performing routine inspections and installations.
Knowledge of and ability to work from plans, specifications and to
follow rough sketches, oral and written instructions. Must be able
to understand and follow instructions, and work under limited
supervision. Must be able to work well with the public and
co-worker's ad present a positive attitude. Clean and professional
appearance. Must be courteous, detailed oriented, self-motivated,
diligent, trustworthy, possess strong organizational skills and
well-developed communication skills. Must be able to lift up to 50+
pounds and perform duties of the Sign Maintenance Trade in typical
Virginia climate. This position might require the use and operation
of aerial lifts or be willing and able to obtain aerial lift
certifications, operate, and work from various aerial lifts and
heights. Desire to work with a team to accomplish goals. Urgency to
grow and improve. Certifications obtained while employed by Liberty
University at the expense of the employer will be reimbursed back
to the University upon voluntary termination (resignation) for the
first 12 months after acquiring it.
As essential personnel: you are expected to be available in the
event of school closings, delays, shutdowns and any emergencies
including clean up required because of severe weather incidents.
Performs snow removal activities as assigned. Such as shoveling,
salting, etc. Maintenance Technicians are essential to the overall
success of Liberty University and its day-to-day functions,
especially during ongoing campus events such as Winter Fest,
Orientation, Convocation, Commencement, CFAW, and summer camps
amongst other planned and unplanned events throughout the year.
Must be available to work scheduled and unscheduled hours as
emergency needs arise.
Reports to work at the required time
Safely performs maintenance, repair, replacement and
installation of signs.
Ensures safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles and
equipment; adheres to prescribed safety standards and regulatory
Must use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
while performing the job duties and responsibilities of a Sign
Management Tech II. This includes but is not limited to steel toe
boots, harness, hard hat, gloves, eye protection gear, etc.
Performs routine signage upgrades and inspections.
Works with Sign Management Lead and higher skilled technicians
to develop and implement process improvements that reduce cost,
cycle time and man-hours.
Performs sign upgrades and inspections to ensure that the
finished product is completed accordingly to the customers
Performs signage maintenance duties.
Performs signage installation both interior/ exterior and
Performs signage assembly.
Design signs using various computer programs such as CorelDraw &
Loading and cutting vinyl on a plotter.
Masking weeding and applying vinyl to various substrates.
Performs sign production on an engraver.
Loads equipment and materials on and off trucks.
Must be able to work individually or as part of a team.

The working environment in which one will typically perform the
essential functions of this position is an indoor/ outdoor setting.
It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. Will
occasionally work in dusty, outdoor settings, and defined by the
weather. May involve exposure to potentially dangerous situations
that required following extensive safety precautions and may
include the use of protective equipment. Work involves some
exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt
dust, fumes, and/or loud noises. As necessary, must be able to
climb ladders and stairs, access roofs and confined spaces.
Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for
travel in the performance of the essential functions of this
position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable
DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
