The Event Support Work Study is responsible for working in a team environment, exercising good judgment, and providing support and supplies to the University for Special Events and moving various items for a wide variety of University departments. The Event Support Work Study reports to the Associate Director and Managers of ESMM.

Event Support Responsibilities:

1. Deliver, set up and break down staging for University events.

2. Deliver, set up and break down tables and chairs for University events.

3. Deliver, set up and break down pipe and drape for University events

Material Movement Responsibilities:

1. Deliver items to and from Central Receiving and the 12th St. storage Facility.

2. Perform office moves for various departments

3. Assist other departments of the University in moving items from one area to another.

Other:

1. Set up and tear down convocation chairs and staging.

2. Clean and assist in routine maintenance of equipment.

Communication and Comprehension

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.

Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.

Problem Solving

Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of a routine nature.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

Frequently required to travel to local and campus locations.

Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.

Frequently required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.

Frequently handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.

Regularly lift 50 or fewer pounds.

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is both an indoor and outdoor setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.

Minimum Qualifications

Has to be a current Liberty University student.

High School Diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

Has reliable transportation to and from the work place.

Work Hours

Typical work hours are Monday-Friday 6am-3:30pm with potential weekend work. We are flexible to work with class schedules.
