Location: Lynchburg, Virginia

If you're an ultra-organized, extremely detail-oriented self-starter with a great attitude seeking a challenge, then joining our busy outpatient therapy clinic could be the perfect opportunity for you! Your pleasant and supportive demeanor goes a long way. You're going to need to be dependable, responsible, and flexible on your work hours as well as have previous experience in doing Authorizations duties. Authorizations:

  • Obtaining Authorizations: Run the “Authorization Report” and filter the Appointment Date to the previous date. You can further filter this report by selecting a specific Insurance Group or as well as by the Next you will look at the Auth Expiration column to ensure that you are up to date with obtaining authorizations. You can always run this report further back to ensure that all authorizations are current.
  • Initial Authorizations: If the patient’s insurance plan requires an authorization, the Benefit Specialist will send a task letting you know so you can then obtain the appropriate authorization.

 

Communication & Coverage:

  • Tasks: Keep track of all tasks and respond to those with more urgency, first. Set tasks for account follow up if needed.
  • Emails: Stay on top of emails and respond to all emails within 1 business day.
  • PCC & PT/PTA: Help answer any questions or concerns PCCs, PTs or PTAs may have throughout the day. Any specific account questions can be directed to the appropriate Insurance Specialist if needed.
  • Supervisor of Revenue Cycle: Please communicate any questions, concerns, or issues directly to the Supervisor of Revenue Cycle.

Additional Tasks: This position will work closely with the Benefits Specialist. If you finish your daily duties before the end of the business day, please report to the Benefits Specialist to see if you can aid them in any way. If they don’t need assistance, please then report to the Supervisor of Revenue Cycle

 

Education/Credentials:
• High school graduate or equivalent
