Job Duties To provide clinical supervision, consultation,
direction, and training to mental health services staff and to
monitor the quality and effectiveness of mental health services for
the assessment and treatment of sex offenders provided to inmates
in correctional settings. The individual in this position is
responsible for the clinical supervision of Virginia Department of
Corrections (VADOC) Mental Health Services (MHS) staff at
designated community sites, consistent with contemporary mental
health care and correctional standards. Minimum Qualifications
Thorough working knowledge of psychological assessment and
treatment modalities. Training and experience in the treatment of
sex offenders. Thorough working knowledge of principles and
practices of supervision. Knowledge of treatment program design and
evaluation, quality assessment, implementation, and evaluation.
Ability to develop and implement mental health services programs
and quality assessment programs. Ability to communicate
effectively, both orally and in writing. Additional Considerations
Graduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology,
Social Work, Clinical Social Work, or equivalent degree in related
human services field from an accredited university or college or an
equivalent combination of training and experience, with advanced
