Job Description Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Petersburg, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/25/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel ER RN – 12H Day/Evening | Travel Shift & Schedule - 3 x 12-hour shifts per week - 10:45 AM – 11:15 PM - Weekends and holidays as scheduled - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - Holiday Requirement: Rotation with core staff - Self-scheduling (weekends pre-assigned) Unit Details – Emergency Room - 13 beds, 1 trauma bay - 1 psych-safe room - Holds intermixed within ER (managed by ER RNs) - Security in-house 24/7 (stationed in ER waiting room) - 35 patients per day average - Only hospital within 2-hour drive - Stabilize and ship out critical patients - Pediatrics ~25% of patients Staffing & Ratios - Nurse:Patient Ratio 1:4 (varies with acuity) - Team nursing model - Night shift: 2 RNs 1 tech - No charge nurse - House Coordinator Mon–Fri days - Most experienced RN serves as resource nurse overnight (with full assignment) - Tech duties: vitals, ADLs, blood sticks, EKGs, sitter coverage Certifications & Experience - Required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC - Minimum 3 years ER experience REQUIRED - Travel experience REQUIRED - Must have strong background in resource-limited setting Floating & Orientation - Can float to any area as helping hands - Unit-specific orientation: 2–3 days Additional Details - Charting System: EPIC - BSN Required: No - License to Submit: Yes - Scrubs: Clean and professional (no specific color requirement) About Genie Healthcare Genie Healthcare is one of the fastest growing Nurse Travel Agencies in the USA.
