seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Vascular Surgical Step
Down for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA . This role offers
the opportunity to join a dynamic cardiovascular team providing
advanced care for post-surgical cardiac and vascular patients. The
RN will deliver high-quality, compassionate care while
collaborating with an interdisciplinary team focused on recovery,
safety, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced, team-oriented
step-down environment. Job Responsibilities Provide comprehensive,
patient-centered nursing care for cardiac and vascular surgical
patients in a step-down setting. Conduct age-specific assessments
and implement individualized care plans based on clinical findings.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the
healthcare team to ensure coordinated care. Administer medications
and treatments accurately, following hospital policy and
documentation standards within EPIC EMR. Monitor patient progress
and revise care plans in response to changes in condition. Educate
patients and families on post-surgical recovery, medication
management, and cardiac health. Maintain a commitment to excellence
in safety, quality, and patient satisfaction. Requirements
Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or program
eligible for Virginia licensure. Experience Cardiac or
post-surgical step-down experience preferred, but not required.
Certifications/Licenses Virginia RN license (or eligibility). CPR
certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP as applicable within
one year of hire. Skills or Competencies Strong communication,
critical thinking, and teamwork abilities. Proficiency in EPIC EMR
or similar electronic documentation systems. Compassionate and
