Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Roanoke, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,781 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Roanoke, Virginia, 24014! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 52 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Epic experience required Telemetry experience required Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a Progressive Care Unit. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients. Patient ratios are currently 1:5, with a goal of 1:4. Nurses are expected to float as needed within their acuity. Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications are required. Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidates must have experience with telemetry and management of dysrhythmias. Management of cardiac drips without titration is also essential. Understanding of isolation precautions and PPE is necessary. The unit may have a daily census of up to 20 patients. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support is available. Nurses will manage various medical conditions, including chronic tracheostomy patients. Required procedures may include central and peripheral line care/management and blood product administration. Candidates should understand the use of rapid response and code teams. Telemetry monitoring is conducted remotely with established support protocols. Nursing staff may be required to work weekends and specific holidays during their assignment. This position does not include continuous nursing assistant support. Strong teamwork and adaptability are essential for success in this role. All nurses will have access to various support services on the unit.
