Job Summary The Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting with surgical procedures in an operating room. Responsibilities include gathering and organizing all surgical tools needed for a procedure or assisting surgical team by handing them surgical tools and re-sterilizing the operating room post-surgery. Job-Specific Responsibilities: Setting up the instruments and equipment that is needed for the procedure Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure all supplies are available Preparing the patient for surgery Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation Taking inventory of surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrate good listening skills Ability to memorize to avoid repetition Ability to maintain composure during stressful situations. Keen attention to detail Ideal candidate must be honest, ethical, and trustworthy Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Must possess either a certificate or an associate degree from an accredited surgical technology program (Preferred) 2 years medical experience (Preferred) Current Surgical Technician Certification (Required) Orthopedic surgery experience (Preferred) Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position Employment Type: Full Time
