Physician Assistant - Cardiology - Electrophysiology - Lynchburg, VA Centra Heart & Vascular Institute has a full-time opportunity for a PA that is interested in working with our Electrophysiology team. This exciting position offers a mix of practice-base with a collaborating physician and hospital rounding of EP patients with the team. PA will manage complex heart rhythm patients and EP devices. Our ideal candidate would have provider experience (1-2 years) working with cardiology/EP patients. New grads with a background/experience in EP devices will also be considered.

This distinction recognizes high-performing hospitals and health systems that meet or exceed national patient safety and quality standards. It also confirms our Afib patients have access to comprehensive services including early assessment, accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Centra Heart & Vascular Institute is currently implanting several new types of devices to include:

• Cardiac Contractility Modulation (CCM ) therapy-applies non-excitatory electrical signals to the RV septum during the absolute refractory period using standard leads. Improves NYHA functional status, 6-minute hall walk distances & QoL status. Has rapid intermediate & long-term effects.
• Barostim Baroreflex Activation Therapy-first FDA approved heart failure device to use neuromodulation to improve the symptoms of patients with systolic heart failure.
• remede System - FDA approved implantable system that safely & effectively treats moderate to severe Central Sleep Apnea (CSA) in adult patients. Centra Heart & Vascular Institute is home to thirty cardiologists and twenty nine APPs, all who specialize in the major disciplines of cardiology including electrophysiology, interventional, noninvasive cardiology and pediatric/adult congenital. Our physicians are board certified in cardiology and are acknowledged both nationally and locally as leaders in the field of cardiovascular care. The group is supported by a full-time staff of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants and certified technologists.
