Harco Fittings LLC, founded in 1966 in Lynchburg, Virginia is a producer of gasketed joint injection-molded PVC and push-on gasketed joint ductile fittings. Our Harco locations span across seven states in the US and we are looking for new individuals to come be a part of a dynamic and growing team today! We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Quality Control Manager. This role is based in our facility in Lynchburg, Virginia and reports to the Plant Manager. Job Summary The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and actively participates in the company's implementation of quality assurance activities required to maintain the continuous quality of products consistent with established requirements while helping to develop newly company standards and policies necessary to support sales and productivity growth. The QC Manager will implement and manage local and corporate-level quality systems. Manage the daily tasks and achievements of the quality assurance team. Perform these activities while ensuring and maximizing safety, product quality, production output and cost control essential to achieving operational objectives. Principal Responsibilities

  • Maintains all required quality control processes and documentation in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Implements inspection criteria and procedures for all Lynchburg production.
  • Ensures that statistical and measurement product data elements are being properly recorded and documented to validate the quality and conformity of all finished goods daily to provide customers with quality products.
  • Directs and supervises QC Technicians in daily operations.
  • Directs and monitors all test functions.
  • Documents and escalates non-conforming/out of tolerance production issues to the leadership team
  • Leads the analysis of returned products to verify the nature of potential product quality concerns.
  • Applies quality management tools and analytical processes in daily operations to support root cause analysis and internal corrective action processes, ensuring timely and effective responses to the various corrective action requests issued throughout the Plant.
    • Plays an active leadership role regarding operational quality within the manufacturing organization.
    • Manage and report on the status of the Plant quality objectives.
    • All other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications & Experience
      • Engineering degree or Completion of a Quality Assurance certificate, through community college, ideally with an emphasis in plastics or manufacturing.
      • Active member of ASQ preferred
      • Lean or Six Sigma training would be an asset
      • Formal or a minimum of 5 years of on the job training in the area of Quality Assurance
      • Over 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an injection molding plant
      • Knowledge and/or training in ISO 9001 procedures and responsibilities preferred
      • Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance procedures and measuring skills.
      • Ability to solve problems where only limited standardization exists and interpret a variety of instructions. Competencies

        • Ability to troubleshoot, make decisions to support the achievement of company goals.

          • Employee may be exposed to minimal hazards in the work environment, such as chemicals, commercial products, exposure to potential toxins, moving machinery, repetitive motion, excessive noise, and powered industrial vehicle fork/reach/ bucket lift/other.
          • Employee will be required to perform a minimal level of specific tasks such as lifting (50lb. maximum), muscular action, body movements, working positions, posture changes while maintaining visual attentiveness.
          • Maybe occasionally be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
          • Employee will be required to wear protective eyewear, laboratory coat, appropriate gloves, hearing protection, respiratory protection, safety shoes, hard hat, and/or other.
