Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a not-for-profit continuing
care retirement community, presents an exciting opportunity for a
marketing and development professional to lead an aggressive
marketing and fundraising program for our community. Westminster
Canterbury seeks to build and support a community that provides a
continuum of care for seniors, focusing on a high quality of life,
a full spectrum of services, and a commitment to dignity,
compassion, and respect for all.Working closely with the president
and various Board committees, the Vice President (VP) will be
engaged in the planning and execution of all marketing efforts
including public relations, marketing and sales to ensure full
occupancy of the community. Additionally, the VP will be
responsible for the planning and execution of all fundraising
efforts including solicitation and stewardship of major gift
prospects. The VP will devise and implement successful strategies
for achieving fundraising goals including major gifts, special
events, annual campaign and the like. Responsibilities: Maintain
and improve upon the occupancy level and revenue production of the
community, to include supervising the sales process and completing
all activities required to market the organization.Represent
Westminster Canterbury in the community as appropriate and serve as
corporate spokesperson.Provide support to the Marketing department
as needed to ensure an efficient sales process.Develop programs
aimed at promoting and developing understanding of the services and
ministry of Westminster Canterbury.Develop advertising, printed
materials and manage the website to market Westminster Canterbury,
as well as other special programs, and direct the distribution of
such materials.Develop and manage Social Media Plan for regular
communication to residents, families, employees and partners to
maintain positive flow of messages as required to support the
mission of WCL. Support the marketing aspect of employee
recruitment and retention efforts in collaboration with Human
Resources team as needed.Develop and produce The Chimes newsletter
and the annual report.Manage and maintain Marketing and Development
budgets.Implement fund development strategies and targets that
align with Westminster Canterbury's strategic plan and
mission.Manage a positive, productive working relationship with the
Foundation Directors, working with its committees to steward gifts
and cultivate new donors.Plan, direct and administer the activities
of the Development Office.Produce effective donor appreciation and
cultivation programs and events.Produce fundraising appeals and
supporting materials to promote program goals. Develop and produce
annual newsletter, The Vision, in conjunction with the Marketing
team.Manage information about the WCL Foundation on the WC public
and resident websites.Manage and support the work of the Employee
Education Committee in conjunction with Human Resources to
distribute educational assistance to team members and promote other
assistance opportunities.Manage the execution of a capital campaign
(if required) with the support of the Foundation Board and the WCL
Board of Trustees.Ability to work in a team environment, a
willingness to be flexible, strong attention to detail and a desire
to work with the senior population.Perform other related duties
incidental to the work described herein.
Requirements:
Educational RequirementsBA or BS Degree in marketing, business, or
related field from an accredited college or universityCertified
Fundraising Executive (CFE) preferred.Work Experience Prefer
candidate with senior living or healthcare marketing experienceFive
years in development and/or public relations experienceAbility to
work in a team environment, a willingness to be flexible, strong
attention to detail and a desire to work with the senior
population.Marketing and Public Relations experienceGeneral
