In the event the office is inaccessible (i.e. Inclement Weather), this role may be required to work remotelyYOUR ROLEThe LTC Experience System team manages the Experience Systems and processes that are used to develop assumptions and analyze/report key metrics for monitoring experience study trends. The Data Analysis Manager will report to the Director--of Experience Systems. We are looking for a motivated and talented individual with an insurance and/or actuarial system background, to support the LTC Experience Study System environment.Our mission will be successful and will be measured by:Allowing actuaries and management to be confident using LTC data to develop assumptions and provide insight on effectively managing Genworth's LTC business.Experience Study actuarial resources, to shift focus from process execution, data preparation, error checking/resolution, to much more emphasis on analysis and creative thought leadership.This is a dynamic and challenging opportunity, and--to--achieve this mission, the Manager of Data Analysis will be involved in revamping the current Experience Study--Database environment, streamlining/automating the current experience study processes and implementing a new database design and business intelligence infrastructure, using modernized technology.--YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESThe main responsibilities for this position are:Liaison with IT to streamline/automate the Experience Study processes using Genworth's standard technological tools.Liaison with IT to support a project initiative to modernize the Experience Study environment into a GreenPlum database environment.Support the Data Governance/Metadata project initiative (AXON/EDC) to centralize LTC experience study data elements and data sources, needed to improve consistency and standardization of LTC data, processes and business rules, across the LTC actuarial organization.Work with different LTC actuarial functional areas and IT to promote consistency and standardization of data elements and business rules and resolve any experience study related data issues.As a liaison to IT, support the current Experience Study Database environment.Support/maintain the current Experience Study SAS/Power Pivot Analytical/Reporting processes.Assist with reporting of key metrics using SQL, SAS, PowerBI and other tools.Maintain/Execute SOX controls to ensure the data used in experience studies is complete and accurate.--Conduct technical--reviews of experience system--development work.Provide ad hoc analytical support for strategic initiatives and internal/external customer requests.Collaborate with other LTC Actuarial functional areas on all projects.YOUR QUALIFICATIONSWe are looking for someone with very strong--technical skills who is a--team player and works well with others in a professional environment.-- The following skills and qualifications are required.BS/BA Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science and/or related major7+ years of relevant work experience in the Insurance industry or comparable fieldWorks well under pressure and within time constraints to effectively accomplish individual and team objectivesExperience working with Insurance Administration Systems and DataProven problem solving and analytical skillsExperience using SQL, SAS, PowerBI,--and Database Management Systems (Oracle and/or GreenPlum)Effective communication, both oral and written and able to adapt to various audiencesADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSAdditional preferred experience and skills are:7+ years of relevant work experience within the--LTC and/or Disability insurance industryOther Technology Software - Python, Robotic Process Automation, TIBCO SpotFire, Tableau and/or other Business Intelligence ToolsKnowledge of Actuarial Experience Studies, Actuarial Valuation and Projections, or other Insurance processesWHY GENWORTH?We have a real impact on the lives of the people we serveWe work on challenging and rewarding projectsWe give back to the communities where we liveWe offer competitive benefits including:Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Account options beginning your first day --20 days of Choice Time Off your first full year12 Paid Holidays40 hours of volunteer time off401K Account with matching contributionsTuition Reimbursement and Student Loan RepaymentPaid Family LeaveChild Care Subsidy ProgramCOMPANYGenworth Financial, Inc. is a leading insurance holding company committed to helping families achieve the dream of home ownership and address the financial challenges of aging through its leadership positions in mortgage insurance and long term care insurance.-- Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, Genworth traces its roots back to 1871.-- The mission of Genworth's US Life business is to develop solutions that meet the financial challenges of aging, including individual and group long term care insurance, annuities, life insurance and new innovative products over time.--We know we can't deliver on our mission unless we deliver for our employees.
