Pacific Life is currently seeking a talented Portfolio Manager to
support the Life Division in Lynchburg, VA. The Life Insurance
Division works with financial and insurance professionals to give
families and businesses the life insurance coverage needed to help
meet important financial protection, wealth accumulation, and
wealth preservation goals.
The Portfolio Manager will manage and conduct oversight of the
Broad Market's strategic project and program spend budget, and will
include the following responsibilities:
* Direct management of the Broad Market project managers. Ensure
team is staffed to support needed projects, managing PM variable
resource model currently staffed by outside vendor vs Pacific Life
* Ensure clear prioritization of projects across multiple systems
* Lead and conduct capacity planning model needed to efficiently
manage and plan for project resources across systems, vendors,
internal PL associates and functions. Highlight upcoming resource
challenges and assist business to creatively address those
* May be called upon to manage division-wide initiatives.
* Question alignment of project priorities with business
* Manage program spend budget.
* Implement more formal project CBA process used for
prioritization, process for managing projects within budget and
process to analyze CBAs post implementation.
* Actively participate as a project manager on projects as

and in multiple locations, this leader needs to have effective
techniques to motivate associates and to ensure team is actively
progressing towards goal whether they are physically present or at
a remote location.
FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:
* 10+ years experience in the life insurance industry.
* technology experience (developer, quality analyst and/or business
analyst), project management experience with multi-functional,
multi-site, complex, $1MM+ projects with high visibility.
* Proven ability to motivate, manage and influence across, up or
down the chain of command.
* Ability to develop trusting, open relationships with teams and to
critically think through numerous issues and priorities and
appropriately align resources and team focus.
* PMP certification, bachelors degree and insurance industry
