Job Description Job Description Job Title: Pre-Pack Operator Job Description The Pre-Pack Level 1 Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our production lines. This position involves supporting machine cleaning, proactively detecting safety and quality issues, and escalating these issues to flow operators or production technicians for resolution. Operators work with small parts, either manually or using machinery, to ensure they are packed accurately. Visual inspection of pieces for shape, color, and quality, as well as ensuring correct weights, counts, and identification numbers, are key tasks. The role requires maintaining equipment, materials, and tools in good condition and effectively managing line operations. Responsibilities Support machine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth production processes. Detect and escalate safety and quality issues to relevant personnel. Manually or mechanically pack small parts into bags, ensuring accuracy. Visually inspect parts for shape, color, and quality. Ensure correct weights, counts, and identification numbers. Maintain and adjust equipment such as counting machines, baggers, and scales. Rotate through stations every few hours during 12-hour shifts. Work with both automated and manual components to ensure proper packaging. Comply with production goals and line reports. Ensure quality and efficiency by learning equipment operations. Essential Skills 1-2 years of experience in production or manufacturing. Proficiency in packaging, production equipment, and quality inspection. Familiarity with material handling and assembly line operations. Ability to perform repetitive tasks with small parts dexterity. Knowledge of quality control, inventory, and general production processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Continuous standing and walking required. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and squatting. Excellent hand dexterity and visual acuity for handling small parts. Experience in a performance-measured environment. No unexplained large gaps in employment history. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.15 - $19.15/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
