note that this is a temporary position intended to support project
needs over a 6-month timeframe. Temporary Assignment Overview: We
are seeking contractors to fulfill a temporary need within our
System Design Team including, Mechanical Designer Analyst,
Electrical or I&C Cabinet Designer, Mechanical Designer, and
Electrical Designer. These roles will provide additional support
for a terrestrial microreactor program for up to a 6-month
timeframe. Location: This temporary role offers flexibility and can
be performed onsite at our Advanced Technologies office in
Lynchburg, VA, remotely, or as a hybrid position. Temporary
Assignment - Responsibilities: Mechanical Designer Analyst Review
and analyze existing mechanical system designs to ensure compliance
with engineering standards and project requirements. Perform hand
calculations to evaluate dynamic loads in accordance with seismic
requirements for nuclear systems. Perform Seismic 2-over-1 analysis
for nuclear applications. Assist with resolving design-related
technical issues. Electrical or Instrumentation & Control (I&C)
Cabinet Designer Design and develop layout of electrical and
I&C enclosures, including sizing, layout, thermal loading, and
seismic qualification. Ensure cabinet and system designs comply
with applicable electrical codes and standards specific to nuclear
facilities. Mechanical/Electrical Designer Design and develop the
heat trace system. Responsible for assessing thermal losses and
performing heat trace sizing calculations to develop reliable
system layouts. Use knowledge of heat trace applications, including
layout and sizing methods, to support design and ensure system
performance meets project requirements. Collaborate with
procurement and engineering teams to identify and narrow vendor
selections. Required Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in
engineering is required. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience
in engineering is required. Mechanical Designer candidates must
have a working knowledge of ASME Code, Section III and VIII,
specifically. Must have general knowledge of project engineering
activities (task plans, schedules, etc.). Must be able to provide
clear, concise, accurate and timely written and verbal
communication. Must be a strong team player with the ability to
develop effective relationships with internal and external
customers and suppliers. Must be proficient with standard Microsoft
Office applications. Must possess the ability to self-direct with
minimal day-to-day supervision. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be
able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or
Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is
required. Preferred Qualifications: Active DOE or DOD security
clearance is preferred. The compensation for this temporary
assignment will be negotiated based on the candidate's
qualifications for this assignment and the selected employment
