Engineer for its Advanced Technologies location in Lynchburg,
VA.

Lynchburg, VA Advanced Technologies office. Job Description /
Duties:
- Own and lead process, procedure, and method improvements in a
manufacturing environment in support of multiple programs.
- Ensure the right quantity of components/products are delivered
and aligned to support prototyping/manufacturing efforts. -
- Review efficiencies within manufacturing to deliver high
quality products/components to clearly defined standards working
with quality and designated engineering personnel.
- Implement production processes and procedures.
- Lead productivity improvements with project-based activities
including new product introduction.
- Identify manufacturing needs for new products in
development.
- Generate production documentation such as assembly
instructions, work packages, Inspection & Test Plans, etc.
- Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work
methods and work instructions.
- Ensure product and process quality meets specifications as
required.
- Coordinate meetings and stakeholder activities.
- Drive actions required to implement process, procedure, and
method improvements.
- Implement best practices from other BWXT sites for continuous
learning in the manufacturing environment.
- Work cohesively with the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
organization on process, procedure, and method improvements to
support manufacturing.
- Propose improvements to processes/methods.
- Exercise judgement to identify and solve problems.
- Provide additional support to the Manufacturing Development,
Prototyping, Testing, and Delivery Group as necessary. Job
Qualifications / Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of job-related experience
performing work in an engineering and manufacturing environment is
required. Previous work within the nuclear industry is
preferred.
- Must be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks
simultaneously, and handle multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve issues and problems by
gathering information, pertinent facts and situational analysis to
arrive at sound conclusions and take appropriate actions through
effective communications is required.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills,
including the ability to use sound judgment and discretion when
working with sensitive and confidential information.
- Must be a team player with demonstrated experience leading
teams to deliver results.
- Must have strong knowledge of and ability to use various
applications to efficiently accomplish work.
- Must have prior experience with Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite
including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy
(DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever
