seeking a Thermal Hydraulic Core Design Engineer for its Lynchburg,
VA location! The Advanced Technology (AT) group at BWXT designs and
develops innovative new nuclear reactors and related systems for
internal and external customers. AT Engineering is seeking a
Thermal Hydraulic Core Design Engineer to assist in the development
of these systems. - The successful candidate will contribute to a
variety of projects, working in a team environment, and will
perform thermal analysis of advanced core designs that include a
variety of fuel systems, cycle and coolant types. The Thermal
Hydraulic Core Design Engineer will work in a core design team,
interacting with neutronic core design, fuel performance,
mechanical, and system engineers. Generally, work will include a
broad scope of studies, from preconceptual through reference
design. Work will be performed with a range of core thermal
analysis tools from quick scoping to design quality. Depending on
the qualifications of the applicant, work may include supporting
the development of core thermal modeling, simulation, and
optimization tools. Job Description/Duties:

- A Bachelor's degree in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering from
an ABET-accredited university is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years experience is required. -
- Must be a strong team player with the ability to develop
effective relationships with internal and external customers and
- Must be able to learn a variety of new procedures, processes
and tools while maintaining various stages of production.
- Must possess understanding of design control and configuration
control concepts and project engineering activities (task plans,

(DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever
