RoleDirects the establishment and maintenance of the organization's accounting principles, practices, and procedures for the maintenance of its fiscal records and the preparation of its financial reports. Directs general and property accounting, cost accounting, and budgetary control. Appraises operating results in terms of costs, budgets, operating policies, trends, and increased profit opportunities.Works with the Accounting Dept. and maintains accurate General Ledgers by reconciliation of cash accounts, accurate and timely processing and recording of payables and account for revenue received, in order to produce quality monthly financial statements for the company.Position reports to Chief Financial OfficerMajor Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccurately helps produce all monthly and quarterly reports on a timely basis. Prepares monthly / quarterly loan delinquency reports. Prepares the quarterly consolidated financial statements and call report. Prepares the monthly interest margin report, ratio reports, income statements, balance sheets and monthly budget variance reports for management and the Board of Directors. Prepares the annual report. Assists in the annual budget process. Prepares the collateral reports for the Federal Home Loan Bank. Direct the development and monthly review of financial to assure accurate and timely financial information is provided to management and the Board of Directors to effectively manage the operations and be accountable to its customers and regulatory agencies.Develops and maintains professional knowledge of and ability to understand and implement banking regulations and GAAP in the Banking industry.Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must be in full compliance with applicable FASB, OTS and SEC pronouncements and regulations, and FDICIA.Knowledge and SkillsExperienceAdvanced knowledge with accounting software required. 5+ years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Banking/Credit Union accounting experience required.Education/Certifications/LicensesAn undergraduate degree (Accounting/Finance) required.Cerfified Professional Accountant (CPA) required.
