Job Description:
Duties: Develops Web services and applications according to
Agile methodologies to support insurance and annuity product
portfolio. Develops large-scale, portable, thread-safe, and ultra-high
performance foundation and application infrastructure libraries using
Java-based technologies. Structures, designs, and develops ETL jobs for
data transformations and data transfers. Primary Responsibilities: • Develops original and creative technical solutions to
on-going development efforts. • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and
for/in multiple platforms. • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting
several divisional initiatives. • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple
applications supporting several corporate initiatives. • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of
a project. • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several
initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and
three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of
experience designing and developing online, real-time, financial brokerage
trading applications and insurance policy administration systems;
Or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and
one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of
experience designing and developing online, real-time, financial brokerage
trading applications and insurance policy administration systems.
Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing
policy administration systems using Oracle Policy Administration System
(OIPA), including configuration language, integration, AS Files, data
intake, database architecture, and data extraction patterns; building
OIPA extensions; and performing palette and application security implementations, screens (policy, roles segment, allocation,
and valuation), and release management; DE building
Object-oriented distributed enterprise applications in Java/J2EE within UNIX and
Windows environments using: Spring MVC, ORM frameworks (JPA and
Hibernate), servers (WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, and WebLogic), Integrated
Development Environment (Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, RAD, and NetBeans),
Test-driven development (JUnit, JMockit, Selenium WebDriver, and Java
Hamcrest); and integrating the build with CI and CD processes; DE developing
Web services (SOAP and REST) using Spring Boot, Jersey, JSON,
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), JAX-WS, and XML formats;
performing application build, deploy, and support using Jenkins, Maven,
Ant, and distributed revision control systems (Bit Bucket GIT and SCM
CA Harvest); and performing optimization, refactoring, and
performance tuning of complex SQL scripts for relational databases (IBM DB2
and Oracle 11g); DE processing content application files and
directories using Bash shell scripts (file system and stream editor
commands); developing batch jobs using Shell scripts for daily business
validation and processing; administering UNIX environment during
development and testing phases using Linux commands; and performing data ETL
using bulk select, bulk insert, arrays, dynamic SQL, and incremental ETL
